Writing About A Place with Jonathan Galassi

Jonathan Galassi is a poet, novelist, translator and Chairman of Farrar, Straus and Giroux. He will take a deep writer’s dive into what it takes to write about a place, examining his own creative process and that of other poets and writers. He will explore how to define, evoke and celebrate a place in writing.
He is a part time resident of Orient and has written about it in his poems. He studied poetry at Harvard University with Robert Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop and is an honorary chairman of the Academy of American Poets. He has been honored with a Guggenheim fellowship and the Maxwell E. Perkins Award.
